I just found out that the WordPress Plugin Visitor Maps and Who’s Online, Homepage @ http://www.642weather.com/weather/scripts-wordpress-visitor-maps.php will cause this to happen. Both in the forum and Recent posts widget or template tag.
Dave do you have that plugin installed by chance?
You got me, but soon as I activated it I had that issue and it immediately went away once I deactivated.
It will be resetting the working timezone. Why it would do that is beyond me but that would be the cause. Not sure how possible it would be to work around that…
Any idea why I could be getting wrong dates for last visit?
I’ve been getting complaints since the SP5 upgrade. Check out this thread from yesterday for example:

On the first members post it shows that she has been a member since Jan 13th and her last visit was Jan12th.
first question would be what are all the various timezone settings? what is actual server timezone? what is your timzone setting in wp settings… and what do you have for your personal timezone setting on sp profile page???
Eastern Standard Time. WP is set for New York time which is the same as mine. I don’t know where to change my SO profile timezone settings but they show correctly when I post and visit.
I said sp profile… each user needs to set up their personal timezone in their profile… or they could see the time off…

Actual servertime is right too:

This timezone is currently in standard time

Local Time is: 2012-01-16 1:40:07
UTC Time is: 2012-01-16 1:40:07
I tried to change the UTC but it doesn’t change.

OK so both the WP timezone and your SP personal timezone are set to New York. Are you getting the right date/time showing up on your posts?

As to the last visited date at the top – do you logout of the site at all? If so what happens when you log back in?
When I make posts the right time is shown.. That reference was to a page that I linked above on post # 23. That if you visit that link you will see that none of the last visits dates are right. I am on my site everyday. The last visit is wrong. Even the other members last visit dates are wrong. The person who started that thread apparantely last visited on Jan 12th but has been a member since Jan 13th. You will see it all on that link.
