Im using the newest wordpress and I just have installed simple press. After instalation I click on go to forum admin and then I do get an error that I do not have access……
How can I fix this ?
Can you give me the exact wording of the message please and what else is on the screen at the time?
in dutch: Je hebt onvoldoende rechten voor toegang van deze pagina.
English: You have sufficient privileges to access this page.
Thats all …. its a blank screen with this error
Ah. Translated like that still leaves some doubt…
IF this is a blank screen with a white rectangle near the top containing the message then this is a WordPress message – not an error. It means that the nonce (a sort of security key with a limited life) has expired. Click on one of the WP Admin menu items – say the dashboard – then reselect the forum menu and it should be fine.
If this is NOT what you are seeing can you do a quick screenshot and attach it?

But how do I go to the admin forum page then ? I mean where can I find it in the dashboard ?
Simple:Press has its own menu in the WordPress admin. About half way down – the icon is a loud-hailer.

That suggests that you not logged in as the same user who installed Simple:Press. Initial full admin access is only granted to the user who installed it. They, in turn, can create other admin accounts of needed.
Understood – but are you the same user that installed SP. As I said – they are the user that the initial forum admin is created for. Forum Admins and WordPress Administrators are not the same thing…
remember, wp admins are not sp admins… you must grant any user (including wp admins) the capabilities you want them to have for admining the forum… this would be done on forum – admins – manage admins by an sp admin…
as Andy says, the only wp admin that gets sp admin by default is the wp admin that installed simple press…
