My host is currently running PHP 5.2.17 but SimplePress says it needs version 5.2.4, will it still work, or better not try to install SimplePress 5.0 yet?

um, version 17 is greater than 4... so yeah you should be good...

Should be fine.
PHP doesn't use the same version number setup like most other software uses.
5.2.17 is actually newer than 5.2.4 because 17 is a higher number than 4

Oh, ummmm I see now, I just looked at the 5.2.17 not the total number of .17 for the version. My Bad!!
Good news is they are updating all servers anyway to the 5.2.3 version soon! So, I am good to go either way.
P.S. My match teacher would disagree with 5.2.17 being greater than 5.2.4 but then again, I never listen to him much anyway.. LOL

I hope you didn't mean 5.2.3... which is older than 5.2.17

how is 17 not greater than 4??? and that is standard... each decimal number is a distinct part of the version...
and yes, and Andy says, hope you dont really mean 5.2.3 cause that would be a downgrade... perhaps you meant 5.3?
