Hi guys,
the post file/image uploader plugin will not respond in an Apple device.
after pressing the “paper clip” icon it sais ‘drag files here or press the Add files button’
works on PC & android but on any iphone or ipad it does not open the Add Files screen
I will upload a picture from my phone in a minute.
works on my iphone and ipad… not dragging and dropping of course since no where to drag from.. but the uploader does come up…
are you saying it worked for you here on ios, but not your site??
If so, might be some js conflict on your site with ios – hard to track down since not good debugging tools… have you tried an alternate browser on ios as another check?

IOS + Chrome – works
IOS + Safari – does not work
safari as a browser continues to lack behind every other browser, especially with js support for mobiles…
not sure I have much more to offer… perhaps @yellow-swordfish has some thoughts since he is more of an ios user than I…
As both an OSX.Mac and IOS/iPhone user my own opinion of Safari is probably unprintable. If they are unable to bring it up to date with standards then I really would like to see Apple just give up on it.
However – you have implied above that safari/IOS worked on this site. If that is the case then I am surprised but heartened a little.

Mine does not.. And the problem is that most of my users are on safari…
This post is written on an iphone 4 running safari and i could not upload a picture here aswell.
mr papa was it safari you tested or you are using another browser?
it would be iphone 6 with safari…work phone so cannot really install other apps…
just to be sure, went and tried again, and it did not work… so probably confused with all the other devices I was testing this morning…
The obvious but sadly flippant answer to that is to lobby Apple to get their software to work. But we all know that would be wasted effort.
What most of our users do who have discussed this in the past is to recommend their members use a different browser that both works as standard and gives them a better browsing experience all round. Chrome, Firefox (now available for IOS) and Mercury are three that I promote, use and enjoy using.
It would be great if we could do something about it but sometimes you are just up against a brick wall where you have to hang around waiting for fixes to come along.
I know. Like I keep saying – lousy browser.
However, this has nudged us to perform another search and we have encountered one or two people who think they might have resolved it with a Safari-only workaround. So far we have not found these solutions work but it is being re-examined. If we find a workaround that does the trick then we will, of course, use it up until the time Safari starts to behave properly.
Was this issue fixed on the latest update?
I do not have an iOS device to test…
