Problem upgrading to 5.x

I tried installing the newest version for wp 3.3 but when I tried to upgrade, I got an error message.  I then downloaded 5.x beta and tried installing that.  I get a similiar message:

Tried deleting the old version and then “upgrading”…

I get a new page inside the upgrade area with the following at the top..

Yes – you have jquery conflicts probably, That explains the error. Either your theme or another plugin are not playing nicely with jQuery and WP or are loading an old copy and/or not loading via the WP API.
