The remember me check box on this site works a treat with all browsers. On my two installs of simple-press version 4.4.5 and V5 Alpha it works on Google Chrome but not on firefox, IE8 or Safari. I can live with it because entering the first letter brings up the correct name and hitting return fills in the password.

The way it works on this site is perfect, any ideas what could be causing this inconsistency? Bear in mind that this site works perfectly with all browsers so it is not a browser setting.

This can happen if you have used more than one login name on the same browser? Is that possible? There are then conflicting cookies so it waits for you to start entering. If this is the case you need to clear out the cookies for the site and let them re-create themselves

OK I’ll look into that but I think it unlikely with Safari of IE8 because they are only used for testing.

Cleaned everything out and it seems to work now, I had Conrad Farlow and cfarl in there.

Excellent. It’s a nuisance – although an understandable one. I need to use several logins when testing so cookies tend to go out the window!
