Removing moderator

Hi All,

I have added the wrong user by mistake to the Admins> Manage Admins page.

I have removed all that users permissions by deselecting all the options and clicking ‘Update Admin Capabilities’ the user remains in the list just with no items selected.

I then selected the option ‘Remove All Capabilitiers from this Moderator’
(spelling mistake on that text?) and this still doesn’t remove the user from the moderator/admin list.

Although I know all the capabilities have been removed, the user appears in the Moderators section at the bottom of the forum and I can’t seem to find a way to remove them.

Look forward to any ideas.

The stats and lists at the bottom are cached and get updated (by default) hourly. You can change that in the forum options, So could it just be that not enough time has elapsed yet?

Thanks for the replies. I made the changes last night and it still hasn’t cleared. The user remains in the list on the Manage Admins page just with all the capabilities grey instead of green, shouldn’t the user disappear from the list when all the capabilities are removed?

Ah – sorry. Missed that this is a Moderator.

A user who is in a user group with the ‘moderator’ flag turned on will not disappear from the list when you remove all their caps. 

If you want to demote them then you need to take them out of the user group or turn the flag off in that user group.

Thank you, all sorted. Thanks for mentioning about the caching as well. A little patience and its clear after making the amend.
