A nice and simple first check – What timezone is your server / WordPress install running on?

I have been running some tests over the last hour and I am afraid I can not replicate any such problem.

SP picks up the ‘message’ that the post has finally been published from the standard WordPress ‘hooks’. Are you aware of any plugins you might have active that might effect the working of the ‘post published’ hook?

Ok.  I just had a chance to contact Godaddy and my server is in MST.  And they never change.  I’m now in MDT.  I was posting the post at 00:01 MDT.  This would be an hour earlier on the server the day before.  I could try posting it at01:01 instead to get them both on the same day.  Do you think this might be an issue?

shouldnt matter but couldnt hurt…  did the wp scheduled post showup?

Ok.  I changed the time to 01:01.  It did post correctly on Saturday.  But it did not on Sunday.  I scheduled the post and scrolled down and made sure that the Post to Simple Press Forum was check.  It was.  But, it did not create the post and topic. 

The strange thing is it is working intermittently, and I can’t figure out the variable.

Let’s just confirm here – I think you are you saying that it did not create the blog post either? Is that correct? Because that I can almost create on demand and is not, I fear, an uncommon problem. So is this the case?

It did create the blog post. 

then the time of day wont have anything to do with it I think…  the key is for the wp cron to run… if its creating the blog post, then it ran… and there is no longer any time dependency…  wp just fires its hook for us and we do our thing…  a bit confused as to how it would be ‘random’…

in both tests, was a forum for the blog post selected when scheduling the wp post?

Yes.  I only have one Forum set up.  I scroll down, click on the two buttons.  Create and update.  The Journal name is defaulted. 

I then clicked schedule and scrolled down to see if it was still checked, and it was. 

I just did two more tests and they worked.  I am also using the marketing mavens plugin. 

I have it set up to schedule the post, then it is assigned to a category to send an email out of infusionsoft, and then I check to post to Simple Press to create a forum Topic.  I do this at midnight, so I’m not able to monitor it live. 

not sure what marketing mavens plugin is?  do they do something to integrate with simple press??  or just WordPress?

when it does not work, did you check the php error log for any potential info?

Marketing mavens has a plugin for Simple Press.

I did not check the php log.  I don’t know how to do that.

It’s something to do with tieing together Infusionssoft, marketing maves and Simple:Press. I have no idea what they do or if they change the code at all. I do recall we had one user quite a while back who had a lot of problems with their install but those forum topics seem to have vanished so probably pre-5.

Diane: You can take a look at the Simple:Press error log which is in the forum admin > toolbox.  See if there are any actual errors (not notices/warnings at the moment) and if there are any then copy and paste them here. This only reports Simple:Press errors however. If the problem -= whatever it is – manifested itself in the WordPress code then any error reporting would more likely be in the php error log which is somewhere on your web server. But one thing at a time.

You suggest that this is a random thing. That suggests more that it might be post content related. Can you think of any difference in the content of the posts that work as opposed to those that fail? Any difference or pattern at all?
