SEO issue with duplicate content

My partner just told me there was an issue with text written on forum page (before/after forum starts/ends).

The issue is that when going to “XXXX.com/forum” it states some text (Welcome to forum bla bla bla) and at the end of the forum (bla bla bla).

When I then go to “XXXX.com/forum/debate/topic-name” this text is still present around the Simple Press forum and creates dublicate content with H1 tags and etc.

I tried the search form but nothing came up, do you have any advise or known workarounds?

Kind regards
Philip

Sorry – where is this text coming from? Not sure about that bit…

This is our text we have written on the forum page.

“Hi welcome to forum bla bla bla” for when people arrive at the page (and SEO benefits)

The Simple Press forum is rendered on the “forum” page you create within WordPress, so if you add text to the forum page it will display on every single simple press forum page, if that makes any sense.

To put it another way… If you add text to the “forum” page from within WordPress by editing the page it will display on every forum, group, and topic within the forum.

I was afraid of that. Thank you for your reply.

You could make it conditional but this would involve also installing another plugin to allow php in Wp posts. You could also use the program hooks to add conditional content (see oiur wiki -> API section).

Once again – this will be much, much easier in V5
