The main problem doing that is cross-database queries which, I understand, can be notoriously slow. 

Adding support in to allow for it could be done but I would worry about the consequences. Can I ask the reason behind the question?

My client was asking but I also dont really see a big advantage… Just wanted to ask if you already have a solution for it.
