I’m pretty excited to now see an Importer tool for SP!

I have setup SP in a test environment, we are possibly going to import from VB next year.

Is there a page of instructions for setting and running the importer tool?

I wiped out my test forum i created in SP.

I can get to the page where I select the vbulletin importer tool, then I get an error 500.

Running on windows IIS.

Do I need to configure the vbulletin.php file in any kind of way to specify the db I want to import from before I start attempting import?

My vb db backup is about 800MB, so it’s kind of a large import.

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

A server 500 could, I am afraid, be just about anything. You will almost certainly need to consult your server’s error log to get any more detail and information on the cause.

There is, sadly, no current written instructions on using the importer but it is pretty self-explanatory when it works for you, The first thing is being presented with a form to complete asking for al the database details.

I admit that the vBulletin importer does worry me a little. It was actually written by a user who successfully imported their database and I am aware that it has been used by others but I have not heard about the success rate. However, an 800 MB database is, I suspect, asking too much unless handled locally. You might be better off getting a professional import  from someone like gConverter who will be able to import much more than our more simple import tool.
