I attempted to download the same plugin this afternoon.  My forum is blank too.  I found the zip file under “Media” and deleted it.  When I go into Forum admin none of the buttons work, they all take me to the same screen – 

Cathy, please explain – does not sound like same problem…  Are you saying the entire admin was functioning and then you downloaded the file uploader plugin for sp and all your admin stopped working?

how did you upload the file upload plugin??  sounds like using the wp media uploader if it was under media… you should use the simple press plugin uploader on forum – plugins – plugin uploader…

The forum and the admin were working this morning. I uploaded the plugin the first time and said the upload failed.  I went into admin under forums>plugins and used the plugin loader there.  It said it was successfully uploaded, but from then on i can’t see anything under the admin forum buttons and no one can see the forum at all.

i found the uploaded file under downloads and deleted it after reading this string.  Still can’t see anything in either place

this is file uploader, right? did you make sure the directory created under wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins was called plupload and not some name with a numeric number on the end like plupload-1?? its a wp issue when using the uploader that can crop up given certain server permissions…

I don’t think there was anything on the end of the file name, not 100% sure.  I deleted it under media. 

no… not the upload but the extracted directory and files… look under wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins

if you actually installed a plugin for sp, it will be there… again, not the uploaded zip archive…

I never got that far!  Just uploaded the zip.  

what do you mean never got that far??  Uploading a zip archive will not affect the admin or anything else.  And what do  you mean when you deleted it under media?  via ftp?  or using the wp media library manager?

still, any more info you can provide on what else might have occurred because as I said, simply uploading a file wont affect anything…

have you checked your server error logs?
