Support Forum
Hi,
My users want to get notified via email whenever someone replies to their post.
I, as admin, get that, but wondering how to enable that for them.
I've installed the subscriptions plugin, but it seems the only option is either a daily or weekly digest.
Is it possible to set up instant notifications as soon as someone replies?
thanks,
Mike
Hey Mike,
I'm pretty sure daily or weekly digests are optional extras, and if a user is subscribed to a topic they should receive emails when a new reply is posted, as they can also subscribe to whole forums to receive emails when new topics are posted. Is this not working correctly?
I am not sure how you have the impression that only digest emails are available. Digests are an option you can turn on if that is your preference.
The popup help on the admin panel really explains the different settings. Note that auto-subscribing will affect all new users after it is turned on. Existing users would need to set the option to on in their Simple:Press profile. Note also that under the laws of some countries, you should not be forcing emails on your users!
First check the permission sets you are using for any of your users you wish to allow to subscribe. Make sure the permission to subscribe to topics is turned on for them. Only then will they see the subscribe buttons and have the subscribe options in their profile.
