Hello,

I recently updated to 5.4 and I also switched my main WordPress theme to be a responsive one.
Since the upgrade and the switch a few things have broken,

I think it is more to do with the them switch so felt that I should pay for help on this one and save myself some time.

The first and biggest issue is the toolbar when creating a new topic or replying is no longer there

http://clip2net.com/s/6rub50

The next issue is that various elements have been centered when they should not be

http://clip2net.com/s/6rucSx

I think most of this is CSS related but it's a little out of my league.. which is why I am back here smile

Thanks in advance,

Theo

trial and error continues;

in case it helps I created a free user and logged in, he can see the toolbar when replying or creating topics

I then upgraded that user to my vip group and he can view all the correct extra areas of the forum but the toolbar when replying or creating topics is gone.

I have checked all the permissions and everything looks good, plus they have been working for years anyway

it seems that when logged in as a vip member it all goes wrong and the css on this area I am typing in to now states

element.style {visibility: hidden;
}

logged in as a free member I see this in the code

http://clip2net.com/s/6rvYNe

logged in as a vip member it looks very different

http://clip2net.com/s/6rw0m4

It is not letting any vip OR my admin account to see this text area with the tinymce

That's as far as I can get with my trouble shooting

cant tell anything from the snippets you attached - no helpful info...  really need to see the browser console and check for js conflicts...

see:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-conflict/

also if the the new theme adds extra buttons to the wp editor in the wp admin, its probably doing it wrong which causes problems when we invoke the wp editor on the front end (some incorrectly use the init hook instead of admin_init)...

but would need to see actual site to tell any more...

I've applied your responsive simple press theme and all the formatting seems to be resolved.

The only problem left is this adding new post or starting new topic.
Can you catch me on Skype at some point so you can take a look?

The results when logged in at one membership level differ from at another

one membership level - http://clip2net.com/s/6rDA1m

another membership level - http://clip2net.com/s/6rDB6t

Neither look right

I don't see any conflicts in the jquery myself but I may be missing something, please let me know how we can sync up for 5 minutes so you can look with me.

If you visit electrofx.com and create a free account quickly you can prob see something also

as I mentioned, those images are not really helpful...   really need to see the site and check for incorrect tinymce buttons/plugins and other jquery conflicts...

sorry, but we have a policy of not registering on sites since we end up getting spammed a lot from them... but if you create a temp account from within the wp admin, you can send us the details via PM and we can check for those conflicts...
