You most probably have a JavaScript conflict – your wp theme or another plugin – which needs to be fixed. This codex article explains what this means and what to look for:

At least this might explain why there was no follow up dialog box which is what should follow selecting the ‘move’ item from the forum tools menu. So a conflict is the most probable and the first thing to investigate.
