Topic Status woes after upgrade

The upgrade to v5 (as wonderful as the new version is) has been a PITA frankly, not least being that:

(a) all existing topic status have been lost from all posts

(b) had to create new topic status sets after installing the Topic Status plugin

(c) all posts are now showing incorrect topic status

As there doesn’t seem to be a way to bulk edit this, I’ll need to go through hundreds of topics to correct the status individually. 🙁

Why didn’t the new version recognise the existing topic status sets and their existing values for existing posts?

Also, there is no longer the option to change the topic status when replying to a post. Was this an intentional change?

 

(Yes, I’m ranting a bit, but the upgrade process has been a disaster with a lot of downtime for a busy support site.)

sorry the upgrade has not been smooth… for the overwhelming majority of our thousands of upgrades thus far, its been hugely smooth… I know that doesnt help you…

good question as to why yours didnt carry over… they have been for our other users… is there any other info you can provide as to what you say when you activated the topic status plugin?  what version of sp did you upgrade from?

you can still change topic status when you post… your users just have to have the ‘change topic status permission’…  that existed before too, but if you lost other topic status data, you may have lost the permission settings for it too..
