Is there a setting in the forum to make sure when posts are read on one device they are not shown as unread on another device when a member logs in?
There shouldn’t be any difference, once a post has been marked as read it should appear marked as read on any device from that point.
I can’t remember, but are you using any cache plugins? Also what timezone is your WP site using?
Just to be sure, are we talking about one user viewing one post, then viewing the forum on a different device – seeing the post they previously viewed is ‘unread’? And where exactly is the unread post being viewed? Through the admin bar for example?
a users unread posts are cleared when they log out of the site or they time out (logged in for period of time with no activity)… this is device independent…
Ike – We are not using any cache plugins. My WP site is using Mountain time and the folks having this problem are in England.
