Hey guys, I upgraded my smaller forum called violaman.com and everything worked great until I deleted the SP4.5 plugin.

After doing so I receive this message when trying to see the forum:[spGroupView.php] - Template file not found or could not be opened.

I also got a new error in the "Set Storage Locations" for "Custom Icons" so I just uploaded a duplicate folder from SP on Fiddlerman.com but it doesn't help. The location shows green now but still can't get into the forum.

Forgot to mention that this warning shows up on the admin panel for the forum.

Either the theme CSS file and/or color Overlay file from the selected theme is missing

Just checked my overlays folder off my ftp and it is empty. How do I get a new default color overlay file that will enable me to use my forum now?

Thanks

You will need to visit the V5 download page and download a theme and then copy it to your new forum-themes folder as set in the wp-integration > storage locations panel.

I did that and I still can't see the theme. Put it directly in the forum-themes folder since my default folder is empty and doesn't have a styles folder. Should I create a styles folder or find it somewhere with all the necessary content?

My themes folder location is supposed to be: sp-resources/forum-themes

Current Theme

The current theme stylesheet:

http://violaman.com/wp-content.....efault.php

cannot be found. Please correct or select a new theme for proper operation.

Just downloaded the default theme but looked in the folder and there is no file called default.php

Do you have a special location for downloading the SP5.5 default theme or is it the same one?

how are you doing the ftp??  please dont say filezilla wink

but when you download a skin, you will get a .zip file...  extract it on your computer before upload...  verify (for example on default) that you now have a folder called default...  inside that folder should three folders (images, styles, and templates) and two files spTheme.jpg and spTheme.txt

good?  then upload the entire default directory to your sp-resources/forum-themes folder on your server...

OK, I just found the themes for SP5. Installed the default folder and BINGO!!!!!!!

Had I only seen the SP5 downloads early last night I could have gotten an extra 2 hours of sleep last night. LOL

Thanks guys. Fantastic upgrade.

LOL, no. I'm a Mac man and use Cyberduck.

The only problem was that I was uploading SP 4.5 skins (themes) instead of the new Beta 5. I should have known better but since they are not listed under the main download menu.

Ah! - that explains things.
And long live Cyberduck - still my favourite ftp tool.
I was in Genoa just a few, short weeks ago and took the time to go and see Paganini's violin - quite moving it was.
