Some images just seem to disappear …… regardless of type. Happens with .png, .jpg.
Going into cPanel they have also disappeared from the File System.
Any ideas?
guess I would check the server logs and see how they are being removed… what kind of images are we talking here? uploaded files via the uploader plugin? users can remove their uploads… if you dont want them doing that, then you could remove their permission for doing so…
but we dont have any functionality for auto removing uploads…
This is very strange.
The uploaded images appear in the posts. The files are there. When you ‘click to enlarge’ the images it would seem that it takes you to an enlarged image with a different name on some kind of hosting site?
Any ideas?

Nothing strange. Your users are simply hot-linking to images stored elsewhere. In this case pbs.twing… and you can read here what that is…
