User Ranks and Permissions

Hoping someone can help …

Is it possible to apply forum permissions to user RANKS (not user groups)?

I have it set up so that when people have made 5+ posts they go into a new user Rank – and I’d like to restrict the permissions associated with that user rank.

Alternatively, is there a way I can set it up as a user group, so that once they’ve made 5 posts they automatically move from one usergroup to the next?

I’m also managing membership levels with eMember plugin.

the latter is exactly what you can and want to do…  if you look on forum – components – ranks, you will see that you can automatically move a user to a new user group (and thus have different permissions) once they attain a rank…

you may want to investigate the option to only allow users to have one usergroup membership.. not exactly sure what you want to do, but may help facilitate it…
