Instead of members just being able to select friends I would like the can only send an invite, which the other can accept or decline ?
Last question for now (phew thankfully you say) is there a plugin for media uploads, for members that does not require url’s from hosting sites, but allows direct upload from their PC ?

Are you referring to attachments? I don’t believe there is a way to specify who can see attachments I’m afraid.
I don’t think there is a friend invite system, although there might be a way of doing it – I could be wrong. Would need clarification on that one!
For the media uploads, take a look at the ‘File Uploader With Plupload’ plugin.

still cant find a way for members to upload their pics or media directly from their pcs to their profile gallary, or a post which is viewable in the post as the pic or vid, not just a attachment link
So have you installed and activated the SP File Uploader plugin? And if so – have you granted permissions for your users to perform uploads?
yes, but still the only option is by url only, not direct upload from their pc, either to their profile gallary (as they can for avatars) or to the forum posts.
So there is no ‘attachments’ tab in the profile? and there is no ‘attachments’ button underneath the editor as there is here?
You can’t upload images in the attachments section of a users profile, it’s really for viewing and managing media uploaded in posts.
Do you have a ‘file uploads’ option under the ‘components’ category in the forum admin options? i.e WP Admin > Forum > Components > File Uploads
actually, you can upload photos to a users profile using the file uploader plugin… they wont be attachments per se, but photos display in the profile…
first you have to enable photos on forum – profile – profile settings… and then on forum – components – uploads, you need to select the option to replace profile photo urls with uploaded images…
