Am having a problem with SPv5 test forum that is NOT a problem on our live SPv4.5.1
Whenever I close and re-open my browser I have to log in again – Windoze XP Pro SP3, Firefox v5.0.1 (I prefer not to update at this time), and also tested on Chrome v8point something (I don’t use Chrome and will not have Google Update running)
Conrad (Farlow) cannot replicate this problem
Although I’m not really unhappy with this, our users will be if it happens to them

Simple:Press has nothing to do with the login/logout mechanisms. SP is just a plugin that works within WordPress and it is WP that is responsible for this. So – as such – this is not an SP problem.
Most often when we hear about this sort of thing it is just a caching issue but that would not be repeated across different browsers. I am afraid I have no ideas to put forward as to why you should see this behaviour.
It’s no bother. I would be interested to know the cause if you manage to resolve it…
It is the WP-members plug in Andy.
Your reply made me look closer at the differences between the WP installations for each forum, they are identical except for WP-Members. We are using the latest WP-Members version on the test site and an older version on the live site.
It still doesn’t explain why I see different behaviour to Paul though, but at least now I know it’s nothing to do with SP.
