All plugins in WP and also all plugins in SP were deactivated except File Uploader plugin in SP. Unfortunately it still doesn’t work.

If what Steve wrote in post 12 above is the case, and I replied to that topic, then it actually looks more likely to be the theme – possibly in concert with a plugin. Those are serious site wide problems, not just for SP.

It was tested with same process in post 16 using Firefox. It doesn’t work, either.

Well if there is no other javascript conflicting with the code then the inly other thing that comes to mind is a corrupted install although this is extremely doubtful.
Have you looked at the error console or tried it with Firebug to see what is reported?
