Captcha Plugin images are all the same

I recently installed the Captcha plugin.  However, it shows the same image (a book) in all five image positions.  Any idea why this might be?  I have no other registration plugins.

I found the problem.  The .htaccess file was blocking access to images.

Wow. Good find. And most unusual.

I have been trying to figure out why this is happening. I use an identical .htaccess file in my wp/content directory and it does not block access to images from my themes.  Where are the captcha images located?  Perhaps if I can change the location I can avoid the problem.

Follow up question: Is there any difference in effectiveness between the captcha and math test registrations?

Thanks

by default, would be in wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/captcha/resources/images

if you wanted to do  your own, we do check in the sp theme images folder first before using the default plugin ones…

the math question works well, but is easier for bots to figure out…
