It probably will not yield any useful info but could you by any chance take a look at the error log. The first one would be in the forum admin > Toolbox.  And only actual errors would be  of any value.

The other would be your server php error log which would be more likely to log anything in PBE if for some reason the processing failed…

Sadly, I don’t have access to the error logs on the server, but tomorrow I will contact Tech Support.  Attached is the Forum Error Log.

Howdy,

Discovered the issue after discussing the problem with the web host technical support person. The web server has a firewall set up in such a way that it prevents web server apps from accessing the mail server. That is why the PBE can’t connect to the server. I had a suspicion that the problem was there, but using my own mail client and successfully accessing the mail account sent me in the wrong direction.
