is this a option that I am missing somewhere? I see you can disable e-mail notifications for mentions, but can’t find subscriptions, thank-you
There is no option to disable subscription emails. It sort of defeats the object of using them!
You are correct that Watch does the same job – up to a point – but without the emails so the onus is back on the user to notice they have new posts in the Watch button at the top of the page.
‘Up to a point’ means that you can not currently ‘watch’ a whole forum as you can with subscriptions and there is, of course, no concept of a digest. You can also not set your user profile to automatically watch topics you post in or start.
If your primary aim is to cut down but not completely stop emails from being sent then you might want to think of using digests in subscriptions…
