Support Forum
Sunday I was tweaking a file, and within my wordpress installation folder and I noticed this php_errorlog in main directory :
in that file I noticed this REPETITIVE ERROR LINE:
[19-Dec-2013 17:13:51] PHP Notice: Undefined index: sfkeywords
above this line there where another 400 with same error but with different times.
After spending nearly 3 hours on investigations, I decided to disable one by one all my plugins.
Eventually I find out that error was triggered only when SIMPLE PRESS plugin is active and when a user is visiting the forum only.
I deleted that file about 20 times but that file reappeared soon I went I went back in the forum FRONT PAGE.
Situations:
As this file it was never there before I presume this error it was caused soon after I installed the latest version (that was about 4 days ago).
Also I noticed in the forum/toolbox/error-log there are listed another 9 errors all related to the BLUE/NOTICE section.
Any suggestion in merit is much appreciated.
As it states on the error log panel of the forum - these are not errors. They are notices and while a nuisance - not actually harmful or a problkem.
We deal with them when we find them but really they are a result of php being what I would call a little 'picky'.
You should be able to get rid of that one by visiting the forum admin > components > seo panel - and just clicking on the update button at the bottom. I believe that will stop those particular notices.

Thanks
But I'm concerned about this php_errorlog in main directory :
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks again
The error log should really be there. It is one of the most useful diagnostic tools you have available. Where it resides can be set in your php ini file - which in most cases needs to be done by your hosting support who can also remove it totally if you so wish although they may not want that.

Yes but I don't understand the reason for that error when it shouldn't be there.
As I said that error was triggered when I installed the latest version.
As you may appreciate that file it get bigger and bigger and it well reach large size.
If this problem ca not be resolved can I go back to the previous version without loosing post?
As matter the fact the error in that file is not related any longer to Undefined index: sfkeywords
now is:
[20-Dec-2013 05:10:58] PHP Notice: Undefined index: topicname
Thanks
As I have already said these are not errors. They are common notices and everybody gets them. And they will not all be related to SP either. Running a website does involve some housekeeping. Clearing logs, optimising databases etc., are all tasks that should be performed regularly.
You can also probably ask your host to turn off the recording of notices. At least I believe that is the case.
Yes - you can always go back to a previous version but you will need to downgrade the core plugin and all SP plugins and restore the database to the correct pre-upgrade version.
As to the notices - further information should be available in the SP Error Log in the toolbox. That will usually tell you where the notice is emanating from. Sometimes - as with sfKeyWords - it is just a matter of opening and updating an admin panel and initialising values. These values are initialised when installed but php can be picky about them as I said before.

yes, if you report the notice (not error) from the sp error log, which will include the location it happens, then we can ensure that take steps to remove the nuisance notices...

Yesterday this notice:
[20-Dec-2013 05:10:58] PHP Notice: Undefined index: topicname
with about 35 listings in that file;
Today I removed that file 6 times and 5 times re-appeared.
Currently in not there.
Our web hosting provider so far they couldn't see why, they are still investigating.
Thanks
I really do not know what more you expect us to say. I repeat - everyone has a php error log file (unless the host has turned it off which is very unusual, and very unhelpful. And as I also said - you could ask them to stop recording the nuisance notices. I do not know what your host is supposed to be 'investigating'.
As Mr Papa said above - and I have already said earlier - we will get rid of them when they are bought to iout attention. But as I said before - I need the details from the SP toolbox Error Log, not the server log, to enable me to check on those.
I am really not quite sure what you are so worked up about to be honest!

I'm not worked out at all, I simply notified this nuisance to this forum, mentioning the fact this error and this IS AN ERROR, caused after installing the latest upgrade.
