Support Forum
have you seen this: https://simple-press.com/documentation/codex/plugins/our-plugins/available-plugins/plugin-featured-topics/
have you added the template tag to your theme to display the list?
No I didn’t add it yet
I saw the link but I can not find “Use Template Tags – sp_FeaturedTopicsTag ()”
sorry, what cant you find?
you would add the template tag, sp_FeaturedTopicsTag($args=”), with any options passed as $args, to your sp theme in the location you want it to display…
Can you tell me for eg. where i have to add it please?
Sorry, but I’m newbie.
where do you want it to display?? need to know where you want the output in order to help on where to add the tag…
No matter where lets do it in the groups (add the topics list in each group) or in main sp header.
I will see the logic and may be i will be able to change it in the futur by my self.
Thanks in advance.

not sure what you mean by in groups, so lets do the header, after the breadcrumbs…. open your spHead.php template file of your sp theme (think you have a child)…
after:
sp_SectionStart('tagClass=spPlainSection spLeft', 'breadCrumbs');
sp_BreadCrumbs('tagClass=spLeft spBreadCrumbs&tree=0&truncate=35&homeIcon=&icon=', 'Home');
sp_SectionEnd('', 'breadCrumbs');
add in the template tag, with a bit of html for organization:
sp_InsertBreak();
sp_SectionStart('tagClass=spPlainSection');
sp_FeaturedTopicsTag ('tagClass=spFeaturedTopics');
sp_SectionEnd();
then you can just style it yourself… or move it elsewhere…
it does not work, I have an error message telling me that it is not compatible with my database
what is the relation of the error to the image which is code???
as to the code, did you use the raw code button or just copy the post?? the latter may mess up the quotes – cant tell from image… but that would not be a db error…
on forum – toolbox – error log, you can get more info on the db error…
do you have some featured topics listed in the forum – components – featured topics??
I’m having a similar problem … “Invalid Database Query” alert.
I’ve checked the code numerous times. Seems fine.
Here’s the error log:

So, I got things to work by changing the function call to:
sp_FeaturedPostsTag();
you switched from featured topics to featured posts… two different things… but if its giving you what you want, then great!
