they are not plugins for wp... but for sp... the forum - plugins - plugins list panel tells you where to put them as does forum - integration - storage locations...

by default you put them in wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins unless you have changed the default... upload them there and then go to the forum - plugins - plugins list and activate them (thats the sp plugins panel, not the wp plugins panel)

it really depends on what you want to do... you do not have to use any plugins... they just add extra functionality to sp... but not critical or used enough to be in core...

you certainly dont need any to log in or add topics/posts...

so something else must be afoot for you... so you have wp 3.3 or higher, right? how about a link to your site so we can take a look?

first, looks like your wp theme is throwing js errors... in the contact form...

and its likely because the theme is violating wp rules and not using the api to load js... in fact, its force loading its version of jquery here:

which is older than the version of jquery that wp itself ships with and plugins expect... that theme should just load the version of jquery that wp ships with...

you can try a quick temp switch to the wp default theme and see if things work better as confirmation...
