How to use Blog Linking to auto post?

Okay so this is what I wanted to do..

For each new post on my blog, i wanted that to be also posted in a forum that I define. Then each wordpress comment get also posted to the forum as topic replies. If that is ever possible, how about the comments that are posted by anonymous/not logged in users?

Okay, so first I need to know the basics. Is it possible to do what i’m asking here? Where can i find documentation on how to achieve this?

yes that is possible…

first you need the sp blog linking plugin… it will create an admin panel at forum – components – blog linking… there is lots of popup help there on how to use…

you can also read the 4.x wiki entry on blog linking:  http://wiki.simple-press.com/administration/components-panel/blog-linking-options/

mostly still valid but we havent added it to the 5.0 codex yet…

come on back with any more specific questions you might have…

Thanks, I actually was able to make it work with an existing post.

1. Installed the plugin.

2. Setup the options in the plugin from the forum admin.

3. Edited the post and there was an option to LINK TO FORUM, so i checked that and now i got the wordpress post automatically posted in my forum and all comments get automatically posted as thread replies. Cool!

I didn’t have to worry about guest comments cuz their comments too are posted as topic replies. Which is awesome! I get like over a hundred comments a day on that post alone so my forum is now automatically populated.

(Out of topic) Now, is there something i should worry as far as SEO and duplicate content is concerned?

potentially… if you have the full content in both locations… in the forum – content – seo panel you can set a canonical url and pick which one you want search engines to use…
