Ignoramus needs help with phpBB importer

I appreciate this is not really to do with you folks but I’m at My wits end, cannot get an answer from My host provider.

For various reasons I installed phpBB at www.theblackpigsblog.con/ForumAt a later date I installed WordPress followed by SimplePress (all though for an ignoramus it wasn’t simple !)

I have installed the importer but having trouble importing phpBB

This is what I have and it don’t work – please advise where I’m going wrong.

 

Source Forum Data: phpBB

To perform the import we require access to the source phpBB database. Please supply the following:
  Required Data

 john1943_php286
 john1943_php286
 **********
 localhost
 php286

I am afraid this is never going to be something we can help with as there is no way we can know the details you need from your phpBB install.

Does not phpBB have some sort of configuration file like WordPress does? I really do not know but I would assume so as it needs to be able to determine this information when it starts up and that ill most usually be held in some sort of config file – probably php.

Or – are you saying these details are correct and of so then what informs you that it doesn’t work? Is there a message being shown or something?

I think the only thing wrong is the data base prefix but from what you say it maybe in the config.php file, will have a look and let you know how it goes.

Hello yellow swordfish – you were dead right – checked the config.php file and had two items wrong !! Now all sorted. Many thanks for your help.

How do I marked solved ?

Good news.

We don’t run our plugin here that allows you to mark it. Not sure why really !!
