At present the buddy press forum profile edit page is this:

As you can see this is a integration of the bubbypress profile with  the SP profile.

However here’s the problem these are not properly integrated

What I need is the complete integration so if a member uploads a profile picture to buddypress or has in the past to simple press it is shared.

I will need @mr-papa to confirm this as he is more up to date with BuddyPress than I am but I believe you need to

  1. Visit the SP avatar options admin page
  2. Turn OFF the optiopn to ‘Replace WP avatar with SP avatar’
  3. Promote ‘WP Avatars’ in the priorities list to the top.

Does that fix it for you?

what are we trying to do?  use buddypress avatar in simple press?  if so, are you running our buddypress integration plugin?  that add on plugin offers the option to use buddypress avatar in sp…  need to start there…

Ah yes – `i see the option to use BuddyPress avatars on the forum admin > components > buddypress admin panel. That is the correct way to do it.

the problem with that is that thousands of members have already uploaded through SP if I change the priority to WP then they all loose their profile picture (avatar).

what i want is either,1. that if they click on “change profile photo” in buddypress they are redirected to the sp avatar page. or 2 neither one has priority both can be used.

afraid one has to have priority…  as currently implemented, you can use either buddypress avatars or the simple press avatars…

an interesting test though would be to do this… on our buddypress integration panel, select keep avatars separate… on our forum – profiles – avatars panel, keep the wp avatars below sp default… select the replace wp avatar with sp avatar option…  may not doing anything, but since I dont know how buddypress handles wp avatars vice buddypress avatars, its worth a try…  if buddypress checks for uploaded avatar first and then if none, use the wp avatar, you might get what you want…
