The best way to look at it is through a post. Click the admin tools button for a user in a post and you have access to the ban / suspend options.
The difference between ‘ban’ and ‘suspension’,
‘ban’ will allow you to completely ban a user, by moving them in to a specific usergroup you can create, or use something like ‘No Access’
‘suspension’ will allow you to suspend the user from their usergroup for a determined amount of time. Basically works just like ‘ban’ except it automatically un-ban’s on a date that you set.
You can display this information to the user through the option ‘
If suspended or banned, the user will still be able to retrieve PM’s if you have PM option selected and you are running the PM plugin, or they can see when they log in to the forum through a notification that displays nice and clearly at the top of the page. Depending on what usergroup you demote your banned or suspended user to, that dictates what they will be able to do on the forum..
Hi yesterday I tried the plugin, but after the expiration of the warning, my user wasn’t able to post. I searched for it and I found out he wasn’t in a usergroup anymore. Why’s that?
I will take a look through the code and run a test here but we do not have any other reports of such a problem. I will see if I can come up with a reason or scenario…
