WP Updates show…
Editor V1.1 installed/V1.1.1 available
Uploader V1.2.2 installed/V1.2.3 available
Tags and Widgets V1.1.4 installed/V1.2 available

All require 5.1.3, which I am running.

When attempting to update through WP each one errors out with “The plugin is at the latest version” error.

It might seem like I am ignoring you but I really do need Steve to weigh in on this one who is currently asleep and I know has an extremely busy Wednesday. I will endeavour to get some information from him later in the day.

No problem at all. I haven’t tried to DL and FTP the files and I have really no immediate need to do so. Just wanted to post up in case it is a known issue, or might become one.

EDIT:
I did just find this post – https://simple-press.com/support-forum/sp5-general-topics/problem-with-plugins-upgrading/ – so it appears I am not the only one.

mmm. Not a solution then!
The best I can do – as it is more than one instance – is open a report to see if we can trace it. Clearly it is not a global or big issue but there has to be something behind it. Sorry about that.
I will leave it up to you to decide whether to just use ftp or not…

I’ll wait. As I said, it isn’t terribly important – we have a work around – but might be a good idea to track it down in case there are others it currently affects or could affect in the future.

I also have this problem and have since updating to 5.1.4. I am forced to download all SP plugin updates manually.

this one off issue was never duplicated or resolved… only person its happened too…  and nothing special we do – just kick off wp stuff…

so maybe you can provide more info to go on…  anything in error log?  any of the wp temp stuff (download, extract, etc) get created?

There are three other threads on this topic.

I don’t know where to look for “wp temp stuff (download, extract, etc.)”.

There is nothing in the error log that is related. The only errors I’ve seen today are related to the few moments I was manually uploading the latest plugin updates and I reloaded the forum page, which caused a few errors as files were momentarily unavailable.

If there’s something I can do next time the plugins refuse to update — something I can turn on or something I can check that will generate useful information, please let me know.

As far as I am aware these are all WP functions so probably no options to check values but I will do some research into that assumption…

correct.  once its realized that there is an upgrade, and simple press does that check, we hand if over to wp for the actual upgrade…  of course, wp has to get the actual upgrade zip file from our server, which is why I was wondering if anything in error log to show it might have failed…
