we use wp-engine which has a lstaging server for testing, people who use the daily digest are receiving e-mails from my live site and my staging site, any suggestions on how to stop that?
I could see that could be a bit annoying!
The main question I think is do you need subscriptions running on the staging server? If not you could simply deactivate the plugin.
Or – if you prefer – you could probably disable the staging servers ability to send out email. In fact why DOES it send out emails?
I’m not sure, I have a ticket in with wp-engine asking that, I’m assuming for testing registration, log in, etc
okay, interested in their answer.. seems odd to be sending out emails and such from staging server since you would often do many of the same activities as live and could send a lot of duplicates…
they said it couldn’t be disabled on their end, really didn’t give an answer as why
lol… very odd… kinda defeats the purpose of a staging server and makes it quite difficult to do any real testing…
agreed, I’m really debating switching to siteground, I’ve read some good reviews on them
I am kind of surprised there is even a functional mail server setup on a web site staging server…
