The only difference there would be that Barebones uses glyphs instead of images, but I believe it still creates the same div ‘spIcon sp_RateDown’.

That got me thinking, so I just went to check locally and realised not only is mine set to stars but I’ve only been running Barebones locally recently. I enabled thumbs and the rate down is also missing for me in all other themes..

I’ll open a ticket so we can investigate.

Cool, so it isn’t just me.  Strange no one else has noticed.

I agree @ike . Also just set up some tests and something amiss there.

I think the stars, which are the default, are probably more popular. It might be a recent bug as well of course. We will find out…

Not following this…  think its a different issue…  they never existed in any of our themes… until barebones came along…

the icons have always been provided as part of the plugin…  themes could override if wanted, but did not need too…

I would argue at some point, we broke the find icon call…  but they should NOT be needed in the themes…  and if not found in theme, should fall back to the plugin provided ones…

so yeah, we still need to resolve…

I thought I’d help test this, but we use Star ratings.

So I turned on the Thumbs at our dev install. Sure enough, it looks like the img tag for the spPostRateDown span is missing…

No, its not missing…  Themes do NOT need to provide it, but can if they choose…

Its still a bug in the plugin, but not related to the image… there is a syntax error that prevents it from being displayed…

as indicated, a ticket is opened and an update will be released this evening…
