Smiley insertion in tinymce editor

A quote from one of my forum testers which I have checked out and agree with.
A separate comment, whislt here, is that when one inserts a smiley, it "looks" like it is suspended above the text (sort of superscripted) and it looks strange whilst composing a post, hard to evaluate the format of the post (for those whom care) until posted where it looks like it should.
So what is causing this and what can I do to get rid of it.

Not necessarily that easy this but I will be updating the TM editor code to the next version very soon so will take look at the CSS for the edit window when I do that.
