SP5 Page Plugin Descriptions

I just wanted to ask if there was a way to but a description of a few items on the SP5 downloads page. I was not sure what they were so I didn’t download them to check them out.

I am referring to this link: /simplepress-version-5-beta-download/

If you scroll down to the “Download SP V5 Themes/td>” section, yuo notice 4 sections like Default Theme download etc. Is there any way to put a little description of what those downloads consist of or what they are? That would be great.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Ps: Are all new posts moderated? If not, how can I be taken off of the “awaiting moderation” for post list?

Thanks again.

I am not sure what useful information could be said about each one though. Being Beta/RC at this stage we are really hoping that people will try them all as part of a beta/RC process is to locate bugs and find issues that we need to deal with.
We can certainly try to be a little more explicit when the final release is made though as I do get your point.

Awesome. I would be happy to try them out but to be honest, if someone new to webdesign was to deal with this stuff, they would be absolutely lost. For example, would a novice person know the different between a Default them and a iForum theme? And then to make things more complicated you have a CSS and stacked theme. To a new person, Default seems to be the most self explanatory way to go. So at that point, how would you explain the different between them to a new person? I’m sure you want everyone to understand your product right? Overall, your doing a great job! Just trying to give a little constructive criticism.

PS: Is the iForum theme and Stacked theme simple overlay skins or are they completely different structures and features to  SP5?

The iForum theme is experimental and is also cut down in some of the less needed features. I really started to make it to suit my iPad more but oddly have never actually tried it on my iPad. it is, shall we say, different.

Stacked is useful for people with a narrow display when viewing topics as it loads the user data above the posts instead of at the side.

This will be more familiar to long term users of SP whete that has been a long standing option.

Is there an example of each? I would like to see a setup before I decide to play around with it.

Just load SP5 and then select various themes and have a look for goodness sake.

These guys are very busy answering all my questions wink

no currently we dont have screenshots of them… and considering some have more than a dozen different color overlays, that would be time consuming a involved… we do plan to get there, but first step is supporting the RC and getting the final release out…

though I would have said it differently wink the downloads are extremely small for the 4 themes… you could easily add them and cycle through the themes and/or overlays with only a couple clicks per… sorry, best we can do right now…
