trying to embed youtube videos with the Insert/Edit Embedded Media option. It will show in the preview perfectly but when I try to Save or Post it doesn’t show up on the page.

This is the video I am trying to post right now, Testing on here:

….

I just tried it here and says Unable to save This post contains an iframe which are disallowed. I am using the YouTube URL and selecting flash or any other option and having the issue still.

Can I use YouTube videos with Simple Press? I could before without a problem…

With the new setup you don’t have to use the TinyMCE embed option for youtube.

WordPress & Simple:Press use the new Oembed feature. See here on how it works. http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

You would enter the You Tube address and Oembed automatically embeds it. You do need to turn in on in WordPress in your  Settings > Media page.

The enter the Youtube address in a post on a line by itself like.

That’s great but seems like it will confuse the end user. Is there a way to remove the media option from the tinyMCE?

Yes there is. Just remember that by doing so then media not supported by the WP oEmbed api may not work if just pasted in in the same way.

Go to the forum admin > components > Editor (tinymce) and remove the ‘media’ from both the plugin list and the plugin buttons list.
