Topic Status Plugin & Guestposting/Notifications

hi,

Two quick question:

1. I entered the topic status set names, but I’m not sure how I can go about updating all of my topics to solved (that’s the purpose of the status name for me)

2. So to jumpstart my new forum I allow guests to post, but looks like I have to manually approve each. Is there a way to get an email notification of new posts that I can then approve? Or do I have to log into wp dashboard each time to check for new posts? Also, there seems to be no option to let repeat guest posters post w/out moderation?

Thanks,
Max

have you seen this:  http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/plugins/our-plugins/available-plugins/topic-status/

so you created the topic status.. did you assign them to forums?  edit each forum you want to use the status…  then you can add a status on new topics or posts.. or you can use the forum tools to update the status…

you only have to approve posts if you have moderation turned on… see:  http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/faq/problem-with-post-edit-buttonow-to/problem-with-post-edit-buttonow-do-the-post-moderation-permissions-work/

If you wanted to mark old, existing topics with a status then this would require a small database query or a manual table update so is that something you can do? If so i can tell you what to change…
