Trying to add Post Thanks

I am trying to get the Post Thanks plug in incorporated into the site.  When I try to add the function to spTopicView.php file as recommended, it breaks the topic view altogether.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?

No – no reports. Please can you paste the exact code you are trying with and show me where you are putting it?
Also – just what you mean by ‘breaks the topic view’ might be useful…
