Hello –
Running the latest version of SP (5.1.2) and the very latest version of the PM plug-in (1.1.4). Logged in as a standard user I am able to access the PM system without issue. Logged in as an admin however, the following message appears when trying to access the PM system:
“You must be logged in and have permission to use the Private Messaging system”
Obviously I am logged in.
Any support would be greatly appreciated!
Too add to this… I just installed the Post Ratings plug-in, and am experiencing the same behavior. Standard users are able to rate posts (after setting the permissions and enabling post ratings for each forum.) However the admin account is not able to rate posts.
yup as mentioned multiple times here, issue for some folks with admin permissions… latest plugin updates should prevent but wont fix… SP core 5.1.3 release this coming weekend should resolve…
in meantime, you could go to your db, the sfauths table and find the row for the permission in question, use_pm or rate_posts and make sure the admin_negate column is set to 0…
