Updating plugins

I tried to bulk update my SP plugins, yet I’m still getting upgrade notifications underneath each one. Is it possible to update the plugins if my membership has expired? Also, is it completely necessary to update them?

sorry, not following…  “tried” and “still getting”…  so did you upgrade all the plugins? and more upgrades showing?

necessary?  you should routinely update wp and wp plugins whenver there is an update… only way to be sure you are current and not leaving yourself potentially in a security risk position…  or in this case, if sp core functionality changes for one reason or another, that you stay compatible…

I tried to update the plugins, but was unsuccessful (as was my web developer). Like me, she used the update feature in WP and it didn’t work. Do I need to renew my membership in order to update the plugins?

No. once you have a plugin, you can always update it even if you membership expires… Besides, you are a current member…

So did you only try by using the ‘check all’ box in the upgrader? Try checking a few individually and updating them rather than all at once…

Thanks for the suggestion to update each one individually! That seems to have done the trick. However, I am still experiencing one issue, but I’m not sure if it’s related to the plugins. When I click on “Most recent topics with unread posts”, I’m not able to scroll down, right click, and open the post of my choice in a new tab. Every time I try, the scroll bar shoots back to the top of the list. Is this a known issue?

Thanks again for your help.

Not sure if its a known issue. One other user reported something similar but never got back with us… Are you running your own sp theme? if so, did you make the needed dialog css changes needed because of the wp 3.6 upgrade and a new version of jquery ui?

see the changes here: http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/installation/changes/theme-and-templates-5-3-0/

you could also make the unread list open in a new page instead of a popup… see: http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/api/template-functions-and-the-api/display-template-functions/common-view/sp_unreadpostsinfo/

do you have a link to your site so we can see if any obvious js conflicts?

I’m not sure if the css changes were made – I’ll consult with my developer about that and give her this info.

The site in question is http://www.webcomicunderdogs.com/forum

Hm, I’m not able to check out the second link, as apparently my Silver membership has expired.
