Hi there i have just installed the plupload plugin to allow users to upload attachments. Shortly after within half an hour i had 5 spammers posting as guests. I checked through all the perms and they were all as they should be, which was not too allow guests to post.. I then deactivated the plugin and all was back to normal guests could no longer post.
Any ideas here please.

this is not something I can duplicate and first such report… but might need more info…
are you saying that will plupload activated, guests can now post regular content, not necessarily attachments? is this new topics or new posts? and assume you have personally tried and can duplicate?

do guests have permission to upload images, media or other files? maybe add a screenshot of the guest permissions for the forum in question…
and do you properly have guests mapped to the right usergroup on forum – usergroups – map users to usergroups?

Yes with plupload activated guests can post regular posts and topics in all forums. I checked through the guest permissions and they shouldnt have access to post anything including attachments ect ect.
The map users is set – Replace all user memberships with a single membership based on WP role.
I have logged out myself yes and posted as a guest.

Yes – but the other question was – do you have the guest permission set assigned to the right user group in each of your forums?
