Upload Path For 5.0 Plugins

Hello!

This is probably a dumb question; nevertheless I’m kinda lost. I have gone through all the thread here but unable to find where exactly to upload the plugins that I downloaded. Each of the “Resources” have only image and js on them. Do I just upload this plugins to simple-press content? I can see “admin, sp-api, forum, resources and sp-start-ups.

Please do enlighten me! Thanks!

By default the SP install should have created a folder under /wp-content/ named /sp-resources. In THAT folder you should find one called /forum-plugins.

You should have been taken there at the end of the install but go to your forum admin > wp integration > storage locations which will confirm if the folder was created correctly and has read/write access.

Thank you so much, Yellow SwordFish! Actually, it was my damn ignorance! Should have read the installation page before bugging you, Didn’t activate the Plugin, thus couldn’t find the path. Deeply sorry for the bother! Thanks a lot!

I’m stuck too.

Just installed version 5 and everything seems to work fine.  I’m trying to install plug-ins but I can’t find a place to move them to.

I have NO directory called  www.MyWebSite.com/wp-content/ named /sp-resources     (have no idea what “named” is)

nor directory called www.MyWebSite.com/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/sp-resources/

I have a directory called www.MyWebSite.com/wp-content/plugins/simple-press/resources/ (then /images and /jscript)

I’m assuming that I unzip the plugin and move the unzipped folder over.

Thanks for any help…

…and have you looked at the Storage Locations panel to determine where the folder is and if it is available?

Thanks,

I found the folder where it was kept (had to do a refresh on Filezilla then it showed up) and copied over the unzipped plugins.

Works fine….

Is it possible to install plugins without FTP access? I would only be able to do it through WordPress.

there is no way in core wp to upload files like that – at least not where sp can get at them…

if you dont have ftp, besides getting a new host, I would look for a wp plugin that might offer some facility for uploading files…
