It looks like the default theme is not being applied to my Forum. I have a custom WordPress theme, but it does allow me to have a blank page for plugins. Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

first, try turning off the css caching… forum – options – global settings…
if that doesnt work, then you might be one of a handful on one of those hosts will really tough set ups not allow php parsing of css files… in which case you will have to use a different theme… try switching to the css only theme and see if that works any better…
Thanks. It was already off. I just tried to upload the CSS only theme and I am getting an error. Installed plugin failed. No valid plugins were found.
You can download the CSS only theme from our download section and give that a try. As Steve said, this may be the root of the issue.
I see you are also seeing two ‘forum’ areas on your page, For this you can follow these tips: http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/faq/troubleshooting/i-am-seeing-multiple-forums-displayed/
Ok, it looks like changing the Limit forum has make it only one, but it did not like the CSS theme. I am getting an error message – not valid plugi.
‘Not valid plugin’?
where are you putting the theme files? Should be (by default) /wp-content/sp-resources/css-only/ ???
This is the error I got:
Unpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found
SP Plugin install failed
Notice: Unable to remove the uploaded plugin zip archive: /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/content/63/5613563/problem-with-post-edit-buttontml/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/css-only.zip
Thought you were playing with a theme???? looks like you are uploading a plugin…
be sure to go to forum – themes – upload theme if you want to upload an sp theme…
I’m not “playing around”. I’m just doing the defaults. I downloaded the css theme then used the Theme uploader. This seems to be the default location.

Hi, there is no folder called css-only under sp-resources. Should I make one and copy the files there? Do I need to unzip the files on my computer and upload that actual files? Or will WordPress unzip them?
I would first go to Forum Admin > check where it shows the theme folder to be and make sure no red/orange button is displayed.
Then if you want to upload the css-ony theme manually got to your /forum-themes folder, create a css-only folder and copy the extracted zip files into it.

Thanks for the last instructions. I checked and all the locations are set with no red/orange. I uploaded the css-only under forum-themes. Do I need to set something else?
did you ever switch to the css only theme… just download the zip from our theme download page – dont change the name – and upload via the forum – themes – upload theme admin panel…

Ok, after doing a manual upload (as the default install put it somewhere else), then activating the theme, I think it is working! Thank you all!
Now that I have it up. How can I increase the font size in the CSS-Only Theme? I would like to double the size throughout.
Thanks,
