Confused. what are you expecting it to look like? when I look at your forum, the recent posts appear to match exactly the latest topics on the forum…
Keep in mind our recent posts widget is NOT an RSS feed… but a list of the latest topics with a post… you will only get one post per topic and it will be the latest one… in all the cases, I looked at, your post was the latest in the topic…
so it appears to be working properly…
we do have an open ticket for a template tag that will just output the latest posts (actually we had it in 4.5 but it didnt come over to 5.0)… is that what you are looking for? maybe I can try to move that into 5.1 if so – second or third request for it…

Yes but your forum RSS feed is an RSS feed and for some reason it doesn’t work when I hook it up to an RSS feed widget on my site. It *does* work when I make an RSS bookmark in Firefox and lbut that is not what I want. Now before we get into a long debate as to why I would want to even use and RSS widget on my site is there any reason you can think of it wouldn’t work? It seems pretty straightforward and I explained that when I hook up your own forum’s RSS feed to my site via widget it works as expected.My own forums – not so much.
Hmm I almost think we are at the stage this explanation needs a diagram. haha

well, part of the confusion is that you dont have an RSS feed of your forum feed on your site in the sidebar… you have ours, you have your blog posts and you have our recent posts which is not an rss feed…
so I cannot really see the problem…

As I said – I have two Widgets, one is *your* RSS feed and the one *right below it* is my RSS feed. Does that clear up the confusion? I actually labeled each feed with a title.

OK – I have to ask if you are logging in with the info I sent you. I set up an account where the RSS feeds shows up just for you. If you’re not logging in you won’t see them.
I’m thinking that’s the problem so I sent you an PM with the sidebar you should be seeing.

OK I have to say, if this was a TV show this is the part where the camera’s come out and the host says something about me being punk’d. You see – the funny part is – that’s the whole dad-blamed problem since jump street. I put in the SimplePress Forum RSS feed in that widget (or any widget) and get THE SITE FEED! This is the whole problem. I enter one thing yet see another. I know that is the WordPress RSS feed yet that is not what I entered in the widget. I entered the SimplePress RSS feed.

All kidding aside – I am almost certain your next response will be “well that sounds like a problem with your site ’cause we’ve never seen anything like that” but maybe I can still be surprised here.

PS. … and yes – when I test the above Simple Press RSS feed from Step 1 in my Firefox toolbar bar it works as expected (as I have also mentioned in prior posts)
Well that sounds like a problem with your site ’cause we’ve never seen anything like that. 
Seriously – I think both Steve and I misread and misunderstood this. I thought you were just getting no results at all from the SP feed in the widget.
But – it actually DOES sound like something is intervening and preventing the SP feed url from being actioned and converting it to the WP default feed url. So first possibility would be some sort of redirection taking place. Do you have any plugins installed that may be performing redirection? Although if that were the case i would expect all feed calls to the SP code to be redirected. But worth asking.

To answer the question again – default widget and the URL is the SimplePress forum feed URL.
I dont see an answer though… wanted to see the whole structure/format of the url…
and I thought we went through s2 member blocking the feed?
since I dont know what you want the feed for, have you grabbed the latest version of the template tags plugin? and seen if the latest posts (not recent posts) tag will meet your needs?

I tried it with and without s2Member and the results were the same.
I did get the latest version of the templates tag plugin but I’m not exactly certain what is being asked here. I’m completely open to any solution. Is there anything I should be ‘setting up’ to see how this works. I hate to sound completely clueless but let’s just pretend I could use any help possible.
