Hi!
is there a command or a piece of link I could add to a link to make people go to the last post?
For exemple, if my menu has a static link to a topic, is there a chance I could send the users to the last post instead of the first one? Like adding /#lastpost or something?
Thanks
Currently no such tag you could add to a topic link for use in something like a menu or a foxed link - but I do quite like the idea. The main issue surely, is that you would always need to manually edit the topic part of the url?
Have you considered the recent/new posts widget (available in our Template Tags plugin) that basically does what you want bit for the most recent X posts where you set the X number? If that is of interest then you can see it working down below - bottom left. The good thing about that is not only is it always the most recent posts but it is also altered for the current user dependant upon what they are allowed to see and what they have already read.

I already have the most recent widget, but in this case I was asking for a non-variable part of link that automatically send to the last post, so there would be no need of edit the url.

OK - so you literally mean the last post regardless of which forum and topic it is in. Correct?
I like it. We will discuss here and see if we can add something suitable.
not really, the last post of a certain topic, like
http://website.com/topic-name/#lastpost

So there WOULD be a need to edit the url when you wanted to change to a different topic. Which is OK, I guess, if you are looking after your site properly but seems like a bit of a pain.
oh yeah I didn't get your point because I would link to a specific topic with tons of pages, that's why I would love a tool like that (so users don't have to land on the first topic and then click to go to the last page).
Thanks

I have opened a ticket for discussion. But why do they go to the first page now? There are links to the last post of any given topic all over the place!
Just take a look at my website. http://realityhouse.it
you have the last discussion widget on the right bottom, but you also have the menu and some icons (for example the iTunes and Spotify ones on the right column) that link to a topic about iTunes and Spotify charts. Would be useful to have this "tool", so if you click on the spotify icon you go to the last post and not the first.
If the spotify topic is not on the latest discussed is not available from the homepage, you should navigate the forum through the charts forum and then click there to go to the last post (I think this is what you meant).
It would just be useful
