Support Forum
I've been running SP 5.5 on WP 4.4. Upgraded WP today to 5.3 and everyone about the site runs fine except the forum page now displays "The site is experiencing technical difficulties."
The SP backend is still running fine, so I upgraded to the latest 5.7 and upgraded the database as well. I can access all tabs on the backend, so on the WP > Page & Permalink section, I sanity checked that it's definitely the Forum page.
Anyone else encounter this issue? I'm running this on Bluehost with PHP v7.3.10.
Hi:
What is the error message being shown in the wordpress debug.log file? When you see the "The site is experiencing technical difficulties." message, usually there is a message written to the WordPress debug.log or php log files. If you post it here that will give us a lead to go on.
Also, have you tried temporarily switching your WordPress theme to the WordPress default theme to see if maybe that is conflicting? Or maybe some of your WordPress plugins might be conflicting if you've updated those and the corresponding add-ons you're using (if any) for simple:press have not been updated.
The SP 5.5 version is past its end-of-life date and may have issues running on newer versions of WP since it wasn't tested on those. You can find the end of life policy for all Simple:Press forum versions here: https://simple-press.com/depre.....-policies/.
Thanks.
