are you sure the users have permission to view those forums? btw, you keep saying topics, but what you are showing in that image are groups and forums...

Sorry - groups and forums. Okay, I redid all the permissions just in case. Spent the weekend doing that too. Nothing changes.
I notice in the housekeeping where it says this:
You shouldn't need to rebuild your indexes unless asked to by Simple:Press Support.

Note: Rebuilding the forum indexes may take some time if you have a large number of topics or posts.
That each forum is only showing the ones that I can see. Like the general group only shows three forums when there are ten. Is this something that might work if I rebuilt them? Or will that just make it worse
Rebuilding the indexes cannot hurt, but I'm not certain that will affect the issue you describe.
I still see all ten forums, so I'm more inclined to believe this is a permissions or caching issue. Have you logged out and viewed the forums using a different browser as a guest?
Simple:Press powers the Tripawds Discussion Forums.
It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.

Oh, yea - as a guest I can see all ten forums in the general group. If I sign in, it all disappears except for those three in general, and in the other groups, I can see even less.
Not just me either. Anyone who signs in is having the same problem. I have checked every permission I can find. (Although I had to add it all back in because they all went away).
Any difference between SP admin ( ot WP admin) and regular user?
When logged in as user, please visit SP profile, permissions tab and see what is shown there..
Are you using standard unmodified SP theme?

those are not permissions... those are admin capabilities and have nothing to do with forum permissions for viewing and others...
in the admin, you would want to look at forum - permissions - manage permissions...
in the front end, you would look at the user profile, the permissions tab...

I have set the permissions like this:
guest - read only
members - standard
The Women's Council - full
Moderators - full
This is how it's been all along. Although I just checked again to make sure.
As a guest, meaning not logged in, I - and all the members of the forum - can see all of the forums under every group.
Logged in - I - and none of the members of the forum - can see all the forums. Only 3 in general and the other four groups are the same. Only one or two forums under each group
I appreciate your help - really!
those are membership roles, not permissions... need to know the underlying permissions for the roles... appears in this case, standard and Full...
so for each of them, click on edit permissions to see what they are...
looks like guests can no longer view your forum either..
